GST in India and it Implications

GST or Goods and Services Tax came in India on 29th March 2017 when Parliament passed Goods and Service Tax Act. It formally came into effect on 1st July 2017. GST has had a positive impact on most organisations, especially of the private sectors. While most of the basic essentials saw a price change and people criticized it in the beginning but it had its positive impacts in the longer term. Most of the food items and restaurants were restrained to charge extra to consumers. GST in India saw a wide range of businesses declined of extra charges to customers. Ultimately, the act has turned out beneficial for the common people of India.
